She was also Fairview Girl Scout District director for Roslindale, West Roxbury and Hyde Park and was training chairman for the Greater Boston Council of Girl Scouts. Mrs. Molnar received numerous awards, including the Catholic youth organization's St. Anne Medal for excellence in scouting and leadership.
She was born in Roslindale and was graduated from Jamaica Plain High School and the Boston Clerical Business School. She was a first aid instructor for the Boston Metropolitan American Red Cross and was an adult assistant for the Holy Name Band of West Roxbury. Che also assisted in fund raising for various charitable organizations. She was president of the Irving W. Adams Unit 36 of the Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion, and was chairman for the Organi-' zation to Form: Ladies Auxiliary to the West Roxbury VFW, Post 2902.
Recently she devoted much time to veterans organizations and to retired servicemen, until illness curtailed her activity. She leaves her husband, Michael S. Molnar, public relations officer for the Massachusetts VFW; two daughters, Mrs. Susan M. Glennon of Hyannis and Mrs.
Eileen E. Hanson of Roslindale; a sister, Teresa C. Fopiano of Roslindale and six grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9 a.m. in Holy Name Church, West Roxbury.
Joseph Flaherty Insurance executive Joseph D. Flaherty, 60, of 7 Dunbar lane, Situate, died Sunday in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Brighton. He was the senior claims representative in the Boston office of Employers Group Insurance Companies. He was born in South Boston and was graduated from Boston University where he later received his master's degree.
He was awarded his Bachelor of Laws degree at BU in 1956. During World War II, he served with the US Army in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He had lived in Situate since 1965 and had been with the insurance firm for more than 20 years. He leaves his wife, Virginia L. (Nikas); two sons, Joseph Jr.
