National Diaper Need Awareness Week is September 18 – 24, 2023, and draws attention to the issue of diaper need in the U.S.A signature initiative of the National Diaper Bank Network launched in 2012, the National Diaper Need Awareness Week provides individuals, organizations, communities, and elected officials the opportunity to engage in real talk and simple actions. By working together we can ensure that all babies have access to clean diapers and other basic necessities required for them to thrive and reach their full potential. One in two U.S. families struggles to provide enough diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy. Here are a few things you can do to participate: - Host a diaper drive and donate to your favorite nonprofit organization, such as The Treehouse. - The Treehouse is always in need of size 4, 5 and 6 diapers. - Request proclamations from elected officials. - Engage in Real Talk on social media via #EndDiaperNeed and #BasicsArentBasic - Make a donation to NDBN and/or a local diaper program.

Excited to have the opportunity to volunteer with RMHC. Research indicates supporting the entire family during a child’s critical illness can improve resilience, reduce stress and enhance wellbeing for several crucial reasons:✅Emotional Well-Being: A child’s illness affects the entire family - parents, siblings, and extended family members experience stress, anxiety, and fear. ✅Practical Assistance: Supporting the whole family enables the sharing of responsibilities to alleviate the daily burden of families managing critical illnesses.✅Financial Strain: Community resources, counselling, and financial aid can ease the burden of medical expenses. ✅Sibling Support: Emotional support for siblings of critically ill children can ease related disruption and anxiety.✅Parental Health: Support for parents to assist in the maintenance of their own physical and mental health can assist in the provision of better care. ✅Family Dynamics: Critical illnesses strain family relationships. Open communication, counselling, and support groups can help maintain healthy dynamics and ease the strain on family relationships.✅Child’s Recovery: Improved positive health outcomes have been linked to the provision of a supportive family environment.

Socks+ provides essentials to our unhoused neighbors. Whether it’s socks, shampoo, gloves, hats, or soap, this fund makes sure everyone in our community has what they need to live in dignity. If you want to be a part of this mission, there’s three ways you can help:● Give a gift - we all share the same heart. Donate now to buy essentials for unhoused men and women in our community. As a frame of reference, a $10 donation buys 10 pairs of socks.● Donate items - have basic care items sitting around your home? Donate them to those in need.● Host a drive - Community West Foundation partners with local schools, churches, and businesses to set up collective drives. DM or email us if you’re interested in setting up a drive and we’ll provide you with the resources and tips to make it successful.Ready to give? Today is #GivingTuesday, which is a time that we seek to give back and support local organizations that are driving positive change within our communities. However, there are other ways we can "give" that don't specifically require a financial donation...1.) Make a donation of nonperishable food items, unopened toys, or hygiene products to a local organization that's supporting families in need this Holiday Season. It's an easy way to bring joy to those in need of it the most, and if it's led by a localized non-profit, you can even receive a tax credit that can be written off at the end of the fiscal year. Wilson County has multiple locations who are supporting those in need this Holiday Season, including RC3 (see attached). 2.) Give your time to support organizations who are making positive changes within your community. While financial compensation does make a difference, there's nothing more valuable than your time and support. 3.) Give the gift of life by carrying Naloxone (Narcan). The training takes 15 minutes and all doses are distributed free of charge (in Wilson County) thanks to various collaborative partnerships led by our local Health Department. Finally, if your heart is set on giving to a local non-profit, please consider the Wilson County Substance Prevention Coalition in support of our efforts to battle the disease of addiction within Wilson County. This #GivingTuesday, whether it be financial or time related, please consider supporting agencies who are actively working to make our communities a safer, healthier, and overall better place for all of us to call home.

A regular, reliable income is essential for St Ann’s, enabling us to care for patients and their loved ones, like Joanna, both now and in the future. 🩵One of the best ways to support us is through regular donations. This provides a stable income stream for the hospice, allowing us to plan more effectively, operate more efficiently, and help as many people as possible who are impacted by life-limiting illnesses. You can choose to donate monthly, quarterly, or annually, and the amount is entirely up to you.Learn more about regular giving and the difference you can make here: https://buff.ly/4f7zzTX
